Rank Pay Anomaly Case:Latest Update

AS ON 18 OCT 2010
The case was heard on 18 Oct 2010 in the court of Justice MK Katju & Justice Thakur. As of date Justice MK Katju was not inclined to recall/review his order on the petition filed by the UOI. On the contrary Justice Katju admonished the Solicitor General for taking unnecessary extension of time limit and the attitude shown by the Govt in resolving anomalies pertaining to pay & allces of armed forces personnel. He wanted defenite inputs from the GOVT on the formation of seperate pay commission for the armed forces to be headed by a retired judge of the Supreme Court with members from the serving as well as the veterans so that issues/anomalies could be resolved expeditiously.
He gave UOI time limit till 08 Nov 10 which has been fixed as the next date of hearing. In all probability the case would be disposed off that day
