CANTONMENT BOARDS Cantonment system to be dissolved. The Government has also decided to hand over civilian areas under cantonment to local municipal bodies.  While the Army areas in the cantonment will be turned into military stations. Country currently has 62 cantonments boards.

One Rank One Pension to Defence Forces Pensioners  As per Govt of India MoD, DESW  letter No. 1(1)/2019/D(Pen/Pol)/Vol-II dated 28/4/23,  arrears on account of revision of pension from 01.07.2019 till date shall be paid by Pension Disbursing Agencies as under:- (a)   Family pensioners and Gallantry  Award winners on or before  30th Apr 23 . (b)   Pensioners above 70 yrs of age on or before 30th June 23. (c)   To the remaining pensioners in equal instalments on or before         31st Aug 23, 30th Nov 23 and  28 Feb 24.

DEARNESS RELIEF

The Govt. of India, Ministry of Personal, Public Grievances & Pensions  vide Office Memorandum No, 42/04/2023 - P&PW(D) dated 06 April 2023 has raised the dearness relief of government pensioners/Family pensioners by four per cent.  With this increase now  DR will be 42% w.e.f 01 Jan 2023
