MINUTESOFEXTRA ORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

Minutes of Extra Ordinary  General Meeting of “Retired Defence Officers’ Association”  was  held on  24th April 2016 at 1030hrs, Venue:  Silver Room, DSOI, Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi-110010. If the prescribed quorum of members is not present, meeting will be adjourned for half an hour. After the original time of meeting, a quorum is not necessary. Agenda points are as under:-

1. Welcome address by the President.
2. Progress  cases.
3. Confirmation of minutes of the last AGM.
4. Presentation & passing of accounts for the FY 2013-14 and 2014-15 .
5. Points from the members.
6. Election of Vice President, Joint Secretary & Treasurer.
7. Any other point with permission of the chair.
8. Vote of thanks

Points  from members, if  any, may be sent by mail/email on office address/Email ID latest by 17th  April 2016.  Members are requested to kindly confirm attendance. Members willing to contest for governing body may forward their names by 20th April 2015. Election shall be by show of hands unless a poll is demanded by members.

BROAD BANDING OF DISABILITY PENSION

 

 

RDOA had written to Hon’ble Raksha Manti ji on 20^th Oct 2015 and reminders were sent on 18^th Jan  & 19^th Feb 2016 that:-

“benefit of broad banding be extended to all those effected Ex-Servicemen who were not before the court. Veterans are being forced to approach the Armed Forces Tribunals. Tribunals are extending the benefit to all including those proceeded on Premature retirement (PMR). It is requested that the benefit of broad banding of disability pension be extended to all eligible cases. It shall be travesty of justice if similar benefits are denied to these individuals”.

BROAD BANDING OF DIS PENSION

We wish to inform all members of RDOA that AFT is allowing the application and granting the relief of broad banding in all eligible cases at the admission stage itself. We are also moving an application for general direction from the Supreme Court to grant the relief across the board.

We have learnt that some persons who have been able to get relief from AFT are trying to mislead the ex-servicemen, therefore we would like to caution the members to be careful of unscrupulous persons trying to mislead. Members are suggested/advised to either wait for the outcome of our application which is being filed shortly or move the AFTontheirown cost. It is advised to do so through a properly registered advocate to avoid fraud.
