COVID-19 : POLICY FOR ESM & DEPENDENTS
Revised Policy w.r.t COVID-19 has been
issued by office of DGAFMS vide their letter No. 402/6/nCov/DGA/DGAFMS/DG-3A dated
19th Jun 2020. Extract
specific to ESM is given below:-
(a) All mild,
moderate and severe cases of Covid-19 (Entitled ESM & dependents) will be
admitted to an empanelled hospital or a
Service hospital.
(b) All Asymptomatic/Pre-Symptomatic/Very
mild cases will be in home isolation after taking due undertaking from them and
ensuring that they fulfill all criteria as per MoHFW guidelines dated 10th
May 2020.
(c) Details of
all very mild/pre-symptomatic/asymptomatic cases will be shared with the local
IDSP/local health dept for follow up.

Covid Three
stages:
1. Covid only in nose - recovery time is half
a day. (Steam inhaling),
vitamin C. Usually no fever. Asymptomatic.
2. Covid in throat - sore throat, recovery time 1
day (hot water gargle,
warm water to drink, if temp then
paracetamol. Vitamin C, Bcomplex.
If
severe than antibiotic.
3. Covid in lungs- coughing and breathlessness 4
to 5 days. (Vitamin C,
B complex, hot water gargle, oximeter,
paracetamol, cylinder if severe,
lot of liquid required, deep breathing
exercise.
Stage when to
approach hospital:
Monitor the
oxygen level. If it goes near 43 (normal 98-100) then you
need
oxygen cylinder. If available in Society then no hospital else admit.

ADVISORY MEDICAL MGT ECHS
In view of the prevalent situation in the country, Central Org
ECHS has issued guidelines for minimizing
visits of ESM to polyclinics. Following are the salient points:-
(a) ESM specially above 70 years may take tele
prescription from Med Offrs to avoid visit to polyclinic.
(b) ESM may purchase
medicines on prescription from outside and put up claim for reimbursement.
(c) Prior permission for collection of
medicines will be obtained on tele/email of polyclinic.
(d) ESM to ensure Social distancing. Entry inside the polyclinic will be with
face mask and after thermal screening.

(e)
(f) ESM to contact OIC or Med Offr on suspect of COVID-19 for testing and treatment. COVID
testing & treatment is cashless at empanelled hospitals. No referral is required.
Procedure for claiming reimbursement is given in Central Org letter No. B/49761/AG/ECHS/Medicines Policy
dated 18th May 2020.

EXTENSION OF LP OF MEDICINES
Central Org ECHS vide their letter No. B/49761/AG/ECHS dated
01st Jun 2020 has given extension of purchase of medicines from
outside till 31st July 2020. Guidelines for claiming reimbursement
is given in their letter No. B/49761/AG/ECHS/Medicines Policy dated 18th
May 2020.
